I try to take everyday objects or scenes and portray them with an unusual viewpoint, mood or lighting. My goal is not to create a literal depiction but one that evokes a pause, a moment, an intimate emotional connection where we notice unique beauty in simple things. In my landscapes, I strive for a loose, painterly quality while capturing the essence of the scene. I am most fascinated with how a certain time of day or weather can change the light and atmosphere and how that particular quality affects the mood of a painting.
