Mary Rogers was born and still lives in Dorchester, MA. She retired in June 2014 after 46 years as an educator and administrator in Boston Schools. During these years she sometimes longed to draw and paint but rarely did so unless it was required for work. After retiring she has taken drawing and painting classes at the Eliot School in Jamaica Plain and at the MFA. She is still in awe that three dimensions can be created on a two dimensional surface and seriously enjoys watercolor painting. She hopes to increase her capacity to effectively capture small moments and places of beauty.
