ROS 2025 Weekend Events

Artist Events:

  • Clay Workshop with Finch Ceramics

    Saturday & Sunday, Home Studio: 8 Lee Rd. Please follow link to reserve a time as space is limited. $50 fee to participate

    Sign up here for a 45 min workshop to make a small porcelain tray with artist Jessica Finch. Learn to shape, decorate, add feet, handles, etc. Pick up your finished piece Dec 6 + 7 at Mother Brook Open Studios, 123 High Street, Dedham, MA. Just in time for the holidays!

  • Studio Grand Opening

    Saturday and Sunday 11am-5pm, Home Studio: 237 Metropolitan Ave.

    Come celebrate the grand opening of Ana Crowley Noordzij’s new studio! There will be activities, four artists exhibiting work and refreshments to celebrate.

  • Make and Take Art for Kids

    Saturday and Sunday 1pm - 3pm, Home Studio: 176 Beech St.

    Visit Lisa’s home studio to complete a “make and take” art project for kids of all ages!

  • Sumi-e Japanese Brush Painting

    Saturday 11am-1pm, Sunday 1pm-3pm, Home Studio: 27 Bradfield Ave.

    Visit artist Naomi Wilsey to see a demonstration of Sumi-e Japanese brush

    painting. Naomi will focus on a Japanese ikebana flower arrangement as the subject.

  • Photo Encaustic Demo

    Saturday and Sunday 11am-5pm, Home Studio: 15 Symmes St.

    Come check out Joseph at work in his studio demonstrating the various stages of the photo encaustic process, applying and shaping hot wax to pictures to create one-of-kind three-dimensional pieces of art.

  • Bake Sale

    Saturday and Sunday 11am-5pm, Home Studio: 34 Fairview St.

    Visit Katherine’s home studio to see paintings and buy yummy homemade

    baked goods!

  • Typewriter Letter-Writing

    Saturday 11am-5pm, Joanne Rossman, 6 Birch St.

    Stop by and write a letter using a vintage typewriter. Materials provided. For adults and supervised children old enough to write.

  • Block Carving Demo

    Saturday 11am-5pm, The Substation, lower level

    Come by the Substation to see a live demonstration of carving a relief block!

Family-Friendly Events at Birch St. Plaza:

  • Fall Fiber Arts

    Saturday 12pm- 2pm

    Lauren, a Tight Knit crochet instructor and Rozzident, will provide all the supplies and skills you need to make yarn jewelry or a garland for decoration. All ages welcome!

  • Balloon Animals & More

    Sunday 12:30-2:30pm

    Jonathan from Quirk Balloons will be twisting in Birch Street Plaza. If you've been to the Rozzie Farmers Market this summer, you've likely already seen him there, twisting everything from monkeys to mermaids. www.quirkevents.com/balloons

  • Puppet Show

    Performances Saturday at 1-2:15pm

    Join Roslindale puppeteer Amy West for a fun, free, family-friendly

    performance on Birch Street Plaza featuring a puppet demonstration

    and a story based on a favorite children’s book. Stay after the show for

    a photo op with the puppets! Amy is on the Board of Trustees at Puppet

    Showplace Theater in Brookline and a graduate of the UConn Puppet

    Arts Program.

  • Ceramics Wheel Throwing

    Sunday 12-1:30 pm

    Join artist Gena Mavuli from Create Art In Community for an interactive demo for all!

  • Kids Art Activity

    Sunday 12-1:30 pm

    Join instructor and artist Jenn Baldvins from Create Art In Community to create a fun art project that you can take with you! Fun for families and kids of all ages!

  • Face Painting By McKenzie

    Sunday 1- 3pm

    Visit face painting artist McKenzie to transform your kid (or you!) into their favorite animals, superheroes, princesses, and more. Fun for all ages!

  • Kamryn Richard & Banc

    Sunday 2- 3:30pm

    Catch vocalist Kamryn Richard live on Birch Street Plaza with her band for

    a performance of smooth R&B and pop favorites! From Boston’s biggest

    stadiums to intimate venues, Kamryn brings energy and soul to every stage.

Food:

  • RCC Cafe

    Saturday & Sunday 11am-5pm, Roslindale Congregational Church, 25 Cummins Hwy

    Stop by for lunch or a late afternoon snack. Eat in or get it to go--we’ll have a variety of homemade soups, warm sandwiches,and baked goods.

Misc:

  • Home Studio Bingo

    Visit six Home Studios, collect stickers, fill out the bingo card (available at all group sites and home studios) and be entered to win a gift certificate to a Roslindale restaurant. Completed cards can be dropped off at info tables
    at any group site or mailed to:
